University Senate:
A special meeting of the University Senate will be hel in Room C,
Law Building, on Thursday, December 16, at 8:00 p. in.
This meeting is called in compliance with and for the considerat-ion of
the following resolution adopted by the Board of Regents at its recent
me eting.
RESOLVED: That the President be requested at an early date
(1) to convene the University Senate and (2) to appoint,
A. A committee of that body for the study of and report upon the
desirability and practicability of a reorganization of the first two years
of college work at the University with reference to the development of
a separate administrative unit.
B. A committee of that body to study and report upon the courses
in the curricula of the various Schools and Colleges, and to see whether
gain in efficiency and saving in expense might not be accomplished by
avoidance of duplication and of unnecessarily frequent offering of such
courses as are very lightly attended.

Executive Board of the Graduate School:
There will be a meeting of the Executive Board of the Graduate School
on Tuesday, December 14, at 4:00 o'clock.

Classes in the Law School will be suspended on Tuesday afternoon, De-
cember 14, on account of the death of Mr. Volney A. Chapin, assistant in
the Law Library.

University Women:
I wish to remind any girls who are planning to move in the middle of
the year of the following rules contained in the House Regulations: "At
the end of the first semester a student may go to a dormitory or sorority
house without filling her room if she gives notice of her intention four
weeks before the beginning of the second semester.
Notice of here intention must be given at the same time to the Advisors
of Women. Other students must make application for permission to move
in the office of Advisors of Women and to the landlady four weeks before
the beginning of the second semester."

Seniors, School of Education:
A tentative list of February, June and August seniors has been posted
on the bulletin board on the right hand side of the vestibule of Tappan
Hall. Names will appear on all official lists as they are spelled here.' Any
discrepancy or omission should be reported in the Office of the School o
Education, Room 105 Tappan Hall, immediately.
Senior statements have been mailed to all tentative seniors except
those specializing in Physical Education, Vocational Education or Public
Health Nursing Curricula. Office hours: 10:30 to 12 a. m.; 2:30 to 3:30 p. in.

Second semester elections for students in the School of Education
should be made in the Office of the School of Education, Room 105 Tappan
Hall, January 6, 7. 8, (morning), 10 and 11. All blanks must be in by 5 p. in.
January 11th.
Those wishing to elect academic courses where action of the Classifi-
cation Committee of the College of Literature, Science and Arts is neces..
sary must arrange for conferences with that Committee through the Office
of. the Recorder of the College of Literature, Science and Arts. These ap-
pointments can be made any time during the week of December 13 in Room
4, University Hall.

Dr. Gustav Egloff, Technical Director of the Universal Oil Products
Co., Chicago, III., will give a talk on Petroleum Technology at 7:30 on
Wednesday, December 15, in the A. I. Ch. E.. rooms, third floor, north wing,
East Engineering Building. All interested are invited.

Public Lecture:
Dr. G. G. Atkins, of Detroit, will speak on "Christianity as Humanism"
Tuesday, December 14, at 4:15, in Natural Science Auditorium. This is the
last of a series of lectures on The Changing Phases of the Christian Ideal,
sponsored by the Michigan School of Religion. The public is cordially in-
vited.

On account of the band concert in Hill Auditorium, Wednesday eve-

U. of l. Section, American Chemical Society:
Dr. Malcolm H. Soule, of the Department of Bacteriology of this Uni-
versity, will speak before this Section on Tuesday, December 14, at 4:15
p. m., in Room 303, Chemistry Building. His subject will be "The Determi-
nation of Gas Changes Produced by Microorganisms." The annual business
meeting and election of officers will follow.

Women's Uesearch Club:
A meeting of the Women's Research Club will be held Wednesday eve-
ning, December 15, at 7:30, in Room Z 242, Natural Science Building. Dr.
Orma F. Butler will speak on her recent travels in Italy.

Alpha Nu:
Alpha Nu Debating Society will hold its first semester initiation this
afternoon at 4 o'clock in the chapter room on the fourth floor of Angell
Hall. The initiation ceremonies will be followed by a banquet at 6:30
