Cook "is a genius" in the'estimation of Capt. Roald Amund- sen, and "no matter what he may or may not have done in business, de- serves the respect of the American people for his intrepid explorations. Dr. Cook may not have discovered the pole, but Commander R. E. Peary also may not have, and the former has as 'good a claim as the latter,: Capt. Amundsen. said here.
