Diploma Fees: At 9 o'clock this (Thursday) morning there remain only ten business hours during which diploma and certificate fees for the coming Commence- ment may be paid. The Treasurer's office will be open from 9 to 12 and from 2 to 4 each day. The necessity for prepayment of fees lies in the necessity for time to prepare and sign the diplomas and certificates. Experience h.as shown un- mistakably that exceptions to this rule merely breed manifold requests for exceptions in future years. There can be no variation of the rule that the fee for any diploma or certificate conferred at Commencement 1926, except honorary degrees, must be actually paid to the Treasurer before the close of business at 4 o'clock P. Graduate Students: Please remember that students expecting to receive a degree at the forthcoming Commencement must pay the diploma fee by Friday, May 20. There is no possibility of paying the fee after this date. Blanks for the pur- pose should be secured at the office of the Graduate School. It is possible that soitie have paid but have failed to return the receipt to this office. This is important. Unless I have the receipt I cannot include the name on the list of graduates. Ruth A. M., in Room C in the Law building, by Dean John D. Falconbridge, King's Counsel, B.A., M.A., LL.B., of the Osgoode Hall Law School (Toronto), upon the subject: "Some Com- parisons and Contrasts," in which he will make some comparisons between the Constitutions of Canada and the United States. Duplicate copies of Spanish books already in the Library will be pro- vided for by a suns of $100' to be1 presented to the treasurer of the Uni- versity by La Sociedad Hispanica next year. The number of books supplied for outside reading in Spanish cours- es has been found to be limited and the society is endeavoring in this manner to aid the department. As a stimulus to the. interest in Spanish, the society has also decided to offer a prize of $25 to be given to the winner of a Spanish essay contest which will be held next year under the direction of Prof. C. P. Wagner of the romance languages depart- ment. At a recent meeting of the society Mr. Frederic Sanchez of the romance languages department, was chosen faculty advisor of the society.
