As head of the Great Britain health service for many years, Sir Arthur gained a reputation for himself for his Vork in conducting health campaigns. lie is also noted as an authority on national health -insurance. It is like-~ ly that he will consider this subject in one of his three talks here. He has written a _large number on books on public. health topics, the most -recent, of, which is ."The Min- istry of Health in Great Britain." He is also the author of many articles ap- pearing in English and American medical journals., Sir Arthur graduated from the med- ical school at University college,, Lon- don, in 1880. He has been a lecturer on public health at both Oxford ahd Cambridge universities. and was made a fellow of the Royal college in 1898. From 1922 to 1923 he was in this country as a visiting professor at the J"ohns Hopkins school of hygiene. The subjects to be treated in thej lectures here have been announced as "The Limitations of'Liberty as Relat-I ed to Communal Life," "The Growth~ of Social Insurance in Britain," and "The History of the Growth of the ]Preventive Idea in Medicine."
