Within twelve minutes .drive of the Ford Rouge Plant lies Morten-
view; stretching from Ecorse Road to Eureka Road and touching Allen
Road and Telegraph Road. This tract of land, over four miles in length,
planned by the country's foremost city and suburban plan engineer, is
destined to house part of the army of workers now employed in the great
Southwest Detroit. A definite development and improvement program has
been established and every effort is being made to bring these -improvements
to their completion at the quickest possible time. In the hub of the district
that will eventually house 50,000 persons will be established a business
center to serve this population. Definite steps are now being taken to com-
plete this work. Mortenview Drive, a 105-foot thoroughfare which is four
miles long, linking the Wabash highway on the North and the Penn-
sylvania highway on the south, is now being paved 24 feet in width.
Huge profits are certain to result from the increased value as soon as
imptovements- are completed, for Mortenview is one of the greatest t
developments ever undertaken by a Detroit real estate operator.
