"It seems to me that in the matter
of racial relations in America, the
crux of the whole situation is the fear
of the numerically large white people
of intermarriage and other social and
biological intermingling," stated
Geoffge Collins before a meeting of
the Negro-Caucasian club in Lane hall
Wednesday.
"Intelligent white persons are dis-
carding the age-old conception of ne-
gro inferiority," the speaker declared.
"This theory unfortunately has taken
a firm hold due to long-standing tra-
dition and, mass judgment.!
"Under the leadership of able or-
ganizers," Mr. Collins continued, "so-
cieties such as the one existent at the
University are being formed through-
out the country, especially in the
South, that friendships may be made
between white man and negro through
personal contact."
