Y- F.r 12gr-, ' : .. i:+ ;Y n:, WILL ADJUST PLANS In order that honors and duties may be more evenly distributed and effici- ency in activity promoted, a new activ- ity system chart has been arranged by the Women's league. Its object is to show the relative values of different activities, based up- on time spent, amount of responsibil- ity, and type of duties, and to form a basis for recording and checking the various activities. All recognized work of Michigan women is represent- ed on the chart which is constructed in the following manner: The first division is made as regards officers, committees, and members. Further arrangement is made by di- viding all activities into three main groups. Those in Group A are award- ed 6-10 points and a student may elect only one such position; those in Group B merit 3-5 points, and a student may hold two such offices or one of A and one of 1; those in Group C carry 1-2 points; a student who has one posi- tion in A, two in B, or one in A and one in B, may accept membership but not an office in C. An exception is made with regard to honor societies. This grouping has been deemed ad- visable to further distribute honor ac- tivities, that is, one girl is not allowed to fill more than one of the bigger positions at the same time. To determine material 'for the chart, r epresentatives of each activity were personnally interviewe(I and reports were given as a result of these inter- views. The different offices within an organization were evaluated as to points. Activities were compared with one another as to campus importance, time necessary to do the work, and work to be done. A joint meeting of the presidents of the Women's league, W. A. A. and Y. W. C. A. with mem- bers of the point system committee was held as a final effort to maintain a just balance between the larger or- ganizations. It is to be impressed upon all wom- en that the chart is the result of their suggestions as far as has been possi- ble. The committee in charge is anx- ious to receive further suggestions for correction and aditions to the pres- ent plan.
