to collectors of internal revenue by

ternal revenue. Applications for ex-
tensions have been addressed direct-
ly to the commissioner in previous
years.
Only upon satisfactory explanations,
to the collector, which must be filed!
on or before the date fixed by law
for filing the income tax returns, will
extensions be granted. Sickness, ab-
