PLAN NEW CLUB
FOR STUDENTS
OF JOURNVA.ISM1Y
Students in the classes in journal-
isnm will be given an opportunity to
organize as soon as the flans of
Prof. John L. Brumm, headl of the
journalism department, for a student
press Club are comnp1leted. Pr ofessor
Drumm hopes that within the next
week or two a meeting place for the
club other than a C , s room can be
secured.
The meetings will take place every
two weeks, and, will be social in na-
ture rather than adherent to parlia-
mentary rules. Journalistic writings
will be discussed with a view to im-
proving the style of the indlividlual
student's writing.
Also, various n ewsaper in en of the
state have signified their wiillinness
to speak at meetings of the club.

ARCHAEOLOG
Many archaelogical discoveries are
described by Prof. W. B. Hinsdale,
custodian of Michigan archaeology,
following his recent-trip of more than
3000 miles through the territory of
Michigan and surrounding states.
Professor H-insdale found many
small copper mines that had been dug
out by Indians with rude stone instru-
mnents. In territory adjacent to Port
Fluron, numerous knives, arrow-heads,
spear-heads and beads were discover-
ed that had been pounded out of cop-r
per by the natives.
IA two-foot string of beads found by
I-tfessor Ilin~dale's party consisted
of vary ng sizes of copper beads. Con-
siderable labor had been necessary'to°
pound the ,:pheres out of cold copper
and pierce them for the insertion of
a cord.
