Sidelights On Game .
Another bit of Zuppke strategy
was seen in the play of Grange, whol
ran exceptionally wide around thej
ends for short gains. This move was
seen as an attempt to avoid Michigan's,
line from tackle to tackle. Last yearl
Grange cut in after starting for they
end in making all of his runs.

Coach Zuppke of Illinois upset all tackle for Illinois. Brown was a
predictions in the selections of his varsity lineman last year but was un
backfield, slating Grange to start as able to play this season prior to to-
quarter, with Britton, fullback last day's encounter.

CoachBob Zuppke's franticattempt
to restore "the backfield interference
that aided Grange so greatly in over-
whelming Michigan last year was on-
ly partially successful. The return
of Britton to the fullback post, and
the injection of Leonard into thetback-
field, gave Illinois better interference
than was evidenced in the first three
games this, season, but was still un-
able to cope successfully with Michi-
gan's great line.
