Nat OHIO0 HERE SATURDAY After dropping the fixrst meet of the year to tha Michigan Aggie wrest- lers, .MNichigan's mat squad started practice yesterday for the Buckeyes, who will furnish the opposition in the second meet on the Wolverine sched- ule, here Saturday night. Michigan went down in defeat be- fore the veteran Aggie team last Sat- urday night, losing 20-6. The over- whelming defeat was largely due to the inexperience of the Michigan team which is composed of second year men. The Farmers were represented by a veteran team, composed of men with two and three years of experi- ence. The victory over the Wolver- ines is the first mat win for an Aggie team in five -years. The Farmers won four of the bouts on falls and lost three on decisions. Baker, Wolverine 115 p~ounder was counted on for a win in the bantam-E weight, and proved his worth by dIe- feating Mohrhardt by having an ad- vantage in 7 minutes 47 seconds. Karbel, the only veteran on the Michigan team, was thro-wn by "Spe- I ed'' Williamson on a fall after 4S seconds of wrestling in the second period. Karbel had a .55 second adl- vantage over lris opponent in the first period, but could not be given a decis- ion, a minulte being needed for a vic- tory. Karbel, who has been troubled with his knees, is expected to round into shape before the Ohio State meet. Captain Hanson, star of the Aggie team, was too much for Teopfer, and gained a fall in 5 minutes and 111 seconds. Captain Hanson, with three years experience, is considered one of the best lightweight wrestlers in the Conference. Kailes, who was shifted up to the 145 pound weight, was thrown by Ber- quist, after having a 4 minute 3 sec- ond advantage over' the Aggie ,grap- pler. Inexperience counted largely for his defeat, andl with a little ml'oreCex- perience Kailes is expected to develop into a formidable wrestler. Sinclair, 150 pounder, ""m nered two of the Wol- verines six points, by outclassing Tee- ter, an M. A. C. veteran. Sinclair was given a dlecision having a 6 minute 31 second advantage. Langguth, who just recently reported to the mat squad, was too inexperienced for the veteran Murray. Murray threw the A Good Shot FENCERS SHOW CHEAT ABILITY' IN PRACTICE: Michigan's fencing team with 25 ;men practicing three times a week; has already outgrown the quarters as- signedl to it and more men are ex- pected with the opening of the newv semester. Lieutenant Schlonberg a graduate of West Point and on R. 0. T. C. duty here, is acting as temporary coach of the team. The coach is particular- ly pleased with the work of Benham and Captain Kellar in the foils. Beardsley is much improved over last ,year, and were the team to have out- side tilts, he would be a sure point getter in the Epee. Felver ranks su- preme in the fastest of the fencing 'tilts, the broadsword. Wednesday will be the last practice1 of the team until after exams, then strenuous practice will be resumed.
