Her address covered the question of the various forms of life membership in relation to the bookkeeping, and showed the need for the requirements made. Miss Hamilton gave the status of the campaign nationally, explain- ing methods by which to stimulate the campaign this fall. Miss Daphne Dodde of Mt. Pleasant, field secretary of the Alumnae asso- ciation, spoke on "Personal Experi- ences in the Field." Mrs. Homer Heath spoke of the work of the local alumnae. Discussion followed at which Mrs. Harry Hawley presided as chaiman. DoctorPurishes Articles On X-Rayf ti S t S G ., Y Dr. Katherine Chamberlain, who was granted the degree of doctor of science here in June, has recently published a paper on the "Fine Struc- ture of X-ray Absorption Edges" in "Nature," an' English journal of science. Dr. Chamberlain's results are drawn from work done in the physics department during the summer. Dr. Chamberlain. was graduated here in 1914, and later took her mas- ter's degree in chemistry and philos- ophy. Sh'e is a member of Phi Beta: Kappa and of Sigma Xi. At present she is teaching advanced mathematics in the:College of the City of Detroit.
