Stephens who is spending hisl first year on the University campus is the rating racquet wielder of northern I Minnesota and city champion of Du- Iuth. A perfect service and flashy net work won the first set for Stephens. His uncanny placements at the net were responsible for Maloney's undo-F ing in this set. Maloney found him- self in the next two sets and with Stephen's inability to drive over the net, he was able to take the sets, Stephens finished the match in the same style with which he started it, a strong, accurate service and speedy net work. His greater experience told on the loser who tired fast after the third set.
