Saturday) Volume 5 WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 8, 1924 Number 14 Leaves of Absence for the Second Semester: Members of the Faculty are reminded of the action taken by the Board of Regents, January 26, 1923, which provides that applications for leaves of absence during the second semester of any year shall be filed with the Board on or before October 31, preceding. Faculty members who contemplate ask- ing for leaves during the second semester of this year, therefore, should peti- tion the Regents at their meeting of O ctober 23 and 24. Communications for this meeting should be in the Presidept's hands not later than October 16. F. E. Robbins. Unlersity Women: All women students who are planning to drive to the out-of-town games, as well as those who are going on the special trains, must sign up at the office ofJ the Dean of Women at least t week before the games. A. S. Whitney. Engineering Education. An informal dinner has been arranged at the Michi- gan Union for 7 o'clock Saturday evening which all members of the engineer- ing faculty are urged to attend. Mr. Wickenden will speak of the progress of his research and there wviil be a free discussion of some of the outstanding problems in the field of engineering education. Oratorical Board: There will be an important meeting of the Board Wednesday at 4:30 o'clock in Room 3211, Literary Bldg. Attendance of all members is urged. Millard I'. Pryor, President. Oxford Debate: The first International Debate between Michigan and Oxford will be held in Hill Auditorium Wednesday night at 8:00 o'clock. Tickets will go on sale that night at 7:15 in the Box Office-price 50 cents. A special effort should be made to be seated before the time scheduled so that the debate can begip promptly. Millard R. Oratorical Association Program Season Tickets: Inocrder to avoid confusion, the sale of seaso tickets for the Oratorical Associ'ation Program for 1924-25 which was scheduled for this afternoon, will be held tomorrow afternoon in the Box Office of Hill Auditorium from 1:30 to 5:30 o'clock.
