DOUBLE CAPAITY FOB CENTRALH1ATING PLANT Boilers, practically doubling the ca- pacity of the central heating plant, are now in place and fittings and connections are being made which will allow the enlarged plant being placed in operation about Jan. 1. Space in the old structure has been1 enlarged, allowing the addition of 4,- 000 horsepower to the capacity of the plant. The former capacity was 2,500 horsepower. Newly installed boilers will provide 2,000 additional horsepow- er, leaving space for boilers with an additional ;capacity of 2,000 horse-4 power to take care of future expansion. Coal storage space has also been doubled, allowing room for 40,000 tons of coal, practically all of which is now in the pits. Heating tunnels have been carried to all of the new buildings. Giants, Griffs To Start Today (Continued from Page Six) The Nats will put the same lineup in the field that won th'e pennant; Judge on first, Manager Harris on second, Peckinpaugh at short, Blueg at third, and Rice, Goslin, and Mc- Neeley in the outfield. McGraw will be forced to shift his outfit. His probable lineup will con- sist of Terry at first, Frisch at sec- ond, Jackson at short, Lindstromi at third, and Kelly, Wilson and Young in the garden. Heinie Grohs injured knee has not healed sufficiently to enable him to hold down his cus- tomary place at the hot corner, al- though Frisch is in shape again. The scandal involving two mem- bers of the Giants' club will have no effect in the series according to au- thorities, although the disclosures re- sulting in the expulsion of O'Connell and Dolan have changed the odds of- fered by gamblers. The Senators are now favored to win the first game. There is plenty of 6 to 5 money on the American Leaguers, while Giant sup- porters are offering 11 to 10. Local Instructor Wins Art Prizes Leon A. Makilski, instructor in the painting and drawing department of the architectural college, won consid- erable fame this summer with several of his portraits which he exhibted at the state fair. One of these enttled "Worker," which was a portrait of his 'father, was purchased by the State Musun of Art in lDetroit, and will be kept there on permanent ex- hibit. This was painted in a very un- conventional style. Another portrait, that of his wife's grandmother, received the gold medal at the state fair.
