TO TAE MENTA TES All incoming students in the Col- loge of Pharmacy, regardless of their class standing, will be required to take a mental test today. This test, which has been given for the last 'three years, is for the purpose of determin- ing a student's ability to observe and remember the fundamentals and im- portant current events of the present day. The test is based on the Iowa uni- versity content test and the Brown university freshman test. By the re- -ults of the test last year, it was rlbown that the mental standard of the pharmacy students had shown a marked improvement in comparison with the other schools on the campus. The test is held also for the pur- pb:,e of giving service to the students. Under a ruling several years ago, a student passing only one half of his work was placed on probation. But from the mental test, if it found that a student is considerably below the average, he is immediately warned to place all his efforts on the work. If it is found that his grades on school work are also low he is sent home. ' d a ti N Not daunted by Gaston B. Means' repudiation of his test mony ag'iinst ;he former attorney general, Harry Daugherty, and MTeans' repcrted repu- iation of his repudiation, Senator Burton K. Wheeler leader of the naughtery probe committee, is continuing to press his attack on Daugherty nd the Republicans in his campaign in behalf of the LaFollette presi len- al party, of which he is the vice-presidential candidate.
