Dr. Worthington C. Ford, Editor of the Publications of the Massachu-
setts Historical Society, will lecture on the "Diplomacy of. the Southern
Confederacy~ in Room 203, Tappan Hall, on Thursday, De ceMber. 6th. The

University Lecture:
Professor E. V. McCollunm, head of the Department of Chemical Hygiene
at John Hopkins University will, lecture on the subject "Our Newer~ Know-
ledge of Nutrition" in the Auditorium of the Natural Science Building at
2:00 p. in., on Thursday, December sixth. The lecture will be of special
interest to students of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, public health

Reception for Professor Saarinen:
On Saturday afternoon, December 8, an informal reception will be given
for' Professor and Mrs. Saarinlen at 4:30 in the Engineering Library. To
this a cordial invitation is extended to members of the. various faculties and
their cwives..;
The reception and subsequent dinner are under. the joint auspices of the
Mliclhigan Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, the Michigan
Society of -Architects, and the architectural faculty. After the reception
and before the dinner the architectural students will give a pageant which
owting to limited accomodations it is necessary to restrict to holders of tick-
ets the pageant will be held a~t 6:15 o'clock in the ballroom of the Michigan
Union and tickets for it may be secured at Room 207, Engineering Building.
