Conference wrestling coaches made to hold down a place in Western ac- Football Card For 1924 Lacks On Game of Being Com- plete. SEVEN CONFERENCE NATCIIES FOR WRESTLERS ARRANGE Following the meeting of Conferen officials at Chicago, last week en Michigan's schedules in football, bas ball, track, wrestling, hockey, an swimming have been announced. The football card is one of the mo= pretentious arranged for the Yostme in a number of years. Six Big Te schools are included, three of whic games will be played away -from An Arbor. One nonconference game yet to be scheduled. Michigan's Conference games are u follows: Oct. 18--Illinois at Urbana. Oct. 25-Wisconsin at Ann Arbor Nov. 1-M:1innesota at * Minneapolis Nov. 8-Northwestern at Ann Arboi Nov. 15-Ohio State at Columbus. Nov. 22-Iowa at Ann Arbor. Two Dedication Games The innovations of the schedule ar the games with Illinois and North western. The Illini and Michiga tied for the Conference gridiron titl this season, and a meeting betwee the two teams is a highly acceptabl event. Coaches Yost and Zuppke wer both keen for the game, and as a re sult, the contest was booked. Th game will mark the 'dedication o Illinois' new stadium, and will un doubtedly be one of the outstandin events of the athletic year. The Northwestern game on Novema ber 8 will herald the resumption o football relations between the Purpl and Michigan. The last Northwest ern game was played in 1919. Th Wolverines will also play a dedicatio game at Minneapolis, November 1s when the Gophers' new stadium wil be officially opened. Coach Yost added Northwestern t the card because he considers it mor advantageous to play Conferenc teams than to book games with smal schools outside the Big Ten. In Con ference games, there is always some thing to strive for, while Michiga has nothing to gain and everythin to lose when teams with no standin in collegiate circles are -on the scied ule. Furthermore, Michigan's 192 schedule is of such a nature as i make the race for the championshil ie r ce Cd t ul n is Ls . - Ln -e n e Ce 'e ig a more clear than has been the case in the last two seasons. Should the Wolverines repeat the successes of 1922 and 1923 next year, they will have an unclouded claim on the title,I as the cream of the West is included on their sdhedule. Track Card Announced Seven events are definitely booked for Michigan's track team. Coach Farrell was unable to book asingle indoor meet ~at home. The schools with which he wanted meets either had no open dates, or were not desir- ous of competing with the Wolver- ines. "Steve" was unable to land the customary Chicago meet, in spite of his efforts to get the Maroon athletes on the card. Full schedules barred several teams from Michigan's list, but others apparently had no reasons for their refusals. The track sched- ule follows: March 1-Illinois Relays at Urbana. March 14-15-Indoor Conference E Meet at Northwestern. March 22-Cornell at Ithaca. April 19-Kansas Relays. April 25-26--Drake Relays. May 10-Ohio State at Ann Arbor. May 17-Illinois at Urbana. The date for the Conference Out- door Meet has not yet been definitely selected. The various officials wish- ed to hold the big affair at Stagg Field Chicago, on Jun 7, but the National Intercollegiates will be held there at that time.
