Rifle Practice:
The Rifle Range in Room 330 Engineering Building will be open for the
members of the University Rifle Club, in the future as follows:
Tuesday evening 7:30 to 1:30
Wednesday evening 7:30 to 10:30
Saturday morning 8:30 to 12:,00

Convocation; Notice to the University Senate:
A Convocation, at which the University Senate is requested to attend,
will be held in the Assembly Room of the Michigan Union Friday afternoon.
October 26, at 4:30 o'clock.
Sir PaulVinogrado f will deliver an address.
The Regents, Deans, and official guests will assemble in the ante-room
of the Assembly Hall. Professor C. W. Cook will be in charge.
Members of the University Senate will assemble in the Reading Room,
second floor, Michigan Union, at 4:00 o'clock, and thence proceed in a body
to the Assembly Room. The University Marshal, Professor L. M. Gram,
will be in charge.
Academic dress, if convenient, is requested, but is not necessary.
A limited number of seats in the Assembly Hall will be available for
the ladies of the families of members of the University Senate, who will be
cordially welcome to attend the Convocation. Please enter by the north
entrance of the Union.

October 24 and is herewith transmitted to the members of the Faculties:
"It is the opinion of this body that every instructor, absenting himself from
his classes, should report such absence to his Dean, in advance, if possible."

Lectures by Sir Paul Vinogradoff:
The last lecture by Sir Paul Vinagradoff will be given on Thursday, Oc-
tober 25th, at 4 p. m., in Room G of the Law Building, instead of on Friday,
October 26th. This change is made necessary by reason of the special Con-
vocation in which Sir Paul will take part, on Friday afternoon.

Mentor Reports for Freshman Engineers:,
ImwArectors of Freshman Engineers are requested to be ready to give
a report of the standing of students on Nov. 1.
Cards for reports to Mentors will be distributed about Nov. 1, and
should be returned to the Dean's Office as soon as possible.

Tryouts for the Central League debates for Independents, (those not

*Masinues Try-Outs
All who have applied for membership in Masques are requested to meet
in the parlors of Barbour Gymnasium at 4 o'clock Thursday afternoon (Oc-
tober 25th). The plans for the annual play will be explained and an-
nounceinent will be made of the time for the annual try-out.

Vladimir de Pachmann will be the soloist at the next Choral Union Con-
cert in Hill Auditorium, Monday evening, November 5. He will play an all-

Faculty Twilight Recital:
The first program in this series ,will be given by James Hamilton, Tenor,
Ora Larthard, Violoncellist, and Maud Okkelberg, Pianist, next Sunday aft-
ernoon at 4:15, in Hill Auditorium. There will be no admission charge. The
general public, with the exception of small children, is invited. Children

All foreign s'tudents have been in-
vited to attend a reception at 7:30
o'clock tonight at the home of Prof.
E. C. Goddard of the law department
and Mrs' Goddard at 1212 Hill street.
The reception has been arranged un-
der the direction of the Cosmopolitan
club and Carleton Wells, treasurer of
the club.
A program will be given from 7:30
to 9:30 o'clock which will include a
piano number by one of the Chinese
students, and two talks by students.
Frederick Hediger, '24E, vice-presi-
dent of the Cosmopolitan club, will
talk on."Foreign Student Friendship."
Johan Rorick, '24D, will give several
native South African songs and tell
some of his experiences hunting big
game in South Africa. The entire
group will join in singing Michigan
songs.

E. Rankin of the rhetoric department,
and Mrs. Rankin, Prof. J. R. Nelson
