Miss Chapin was the first clerk em-
ployed in ofllco of the University, and
duiring the first'few years of her work
she assisted not only the Secretary.
but the Presidecnt, the Treasurer, andt
the iRegistrar. One of her many reg-
ular duties has been the annual task
of issuing and checeking over the 61-
plomnas. She has handled more than
40,000 diplomas in this time.
In the near future Miss Chapin
plans to leave Ann Arbor for San ex-
tended stay abroad.
