The idea originated when a cor- mittee of patronesses, including a number of wives of professors of the University of Parris, interested themselves in the proposition. They have secured a house in which such students may live, and are now seek- ing some help in its furnishing from the United States, which will profit by the accommodations so provided. The department here has already contributed to the fund and the Cercle Francais has voted to give $25. Con- tributions from any students who de- sire to give will be received by any instructors in the French department or may be left in room 104, south wing of University hall.
