BANQUETS WILL ALSO BE- BE HELD IN OTHER CITIESj More than 1,000 Michigan alumnae, together with the men who will assist in carryingon the national campaign of $1,000,000 for the University of Michigan League Building axed En- dowment fund, are to attend the ban- quet which is to be held at the Hotel Statler. in Detroit this evening, to! mark the opening of the national drive; the drive will continue through- out the month of May. At this banquet President Marion L. Burton, honorary chairman, and Miss1 Jean Hamilton, acting chairman, of the national campaign committee, willl speak. President Burton's address, including an announcement of the re- suits of the campaign which has re- cently been completed by the under- graduates, together with a program given by the University of Michigan_ Glee club, will be broadcast from the Statler ballroom by Station WWJ be- tween 7:30 and 8:30 o'clock, eastern standard time. For Next Year's Union Production HAS BEEN ACTIVE WORKER IN DRAMATICS FOR : YEARS John Bromley, '25, has been named general chairman of the committees Iwhich are to have charge of next year's Union opera. Bromley has been an active worker in Union dramatic activities *Ance his entrance in the University, having taken part in two Union productions andI Minmes activities in general. Last year Bromley worked in "The Thirteenth Chair" as stage manager, and since then has actively continued in the work. This year he was chair- man of one of the committees which had charge of the opera. He is a member of Mimes dramatic society and succeeds William Kratz, '24E, this year's head of opera activities.
