Main St. , l=-----------------------iu~au~a r - Offers New Rule For Safe Driving Who has the right of way? The, other felw --. AL WAYS. This rule for safe 'driving, laid mdown for RED TOP drivers, is submitted for the serious consideration of' every motorist. Let's look at this safety proposition from the stand- point of Common Sense, We are all agreed that killings and, maimings MUST stop. Rules and regulations don't seem to be doing it, .so what will ? A recent survey of au tomobile accidents disclosed that 99 out of every hundred took place within twenty-five . feet of street intersections. In every case somebody had. the right of way and it availed him not a whit.. We Americans are inclined -to scoff at "Alphonse and Gaston" etiquette, but courtesy, after all, make Life's pathway pleasanter-and safer, Standing on one's rights is a constitutional prerogative, but mightyf poor consolation for a broken head. When all drivers concede that every other has the right of way, there will be no more street corner crashes. There may be a littl etimel ost, but lives will be saved, which is of infinitely more importance. RED TOP CAB drivers are human and make mistakes like everybody else, but we are spending un- limited pains to properly. train the men who want to 'do right. The others must go and vm ned your help to get rid of them. } e,. " aa r, ; r, y ., '1 4 ¢ ' // r' s .f . 6 .: . . + 4 ju tf --- -- i .' 7,' &f ( i Lih...
