Stherstrength of the team will be greater than was at first predicted because of the good showing made by the squad in the trials during the past two days, and because of the addi- tion of severai veteran performers to the list of available men at te lstr moment. Smit Returns to Squad} The-potential strength of the Mich- igan',aggregktion was greatly aug- mented with the return of Ra Smith to the. squad after a semester of inac- tivity. Last year in the outdoor Con- ference meet he captured first place in the high jump and has leaped as high as 6 feet 2 inches. Hattendorf, Freyburg and Reinke, who are entered in the half mile, all have seen service in big meets and were members of a two mile relay team which has won two races against good competition already this year.
