President-emeritus Harry B. Hutch-
ins and several of the deans of the
jUniversity will attend the banquet to
be given in honor of Dean Maximo
Kalaw, exchange professor from the
Philippines, tomorrow night at the
Iunion. The banquet is being directed
by. Philippino students on' the cam-
pus.
Many prominent Philippinos from
this section of the country will attend
the banquet. There are more than
100 Philippinos studying in the Un-
ited States 'now, largely due to the
work of the native government of the
Phiilippinyes, 'which encourages study-
ing, here by scholarships anal favorable
regulations.

1William P. (Cinnery
William P. Connery, member of con-
gress from Massachusetts, is 35. He
has been actor theatrical managerII
and politician. Now he wants to be a
lawyer. Daily he is in his seat in. the
house of representatives. Nightly he
is in a seat in a law school. He hopes
to obtain the degree of bachelor of
laws and be admitted to practice soon.
Alumnus Autlvr of Book,
Clayton WV. Bedford, '10E, is the
author of "Systematic Survey of Rub-
ber Chemistry," which has~ recently
been published by the Chemical Cata-f
log Co. of ,New York city. It is a Y
highly specialized monograph -qf, 385

Mr. Bedford wvas for a_ number of

the Indiana game, absence of indis-
pensable instruments made playing
impossible. At previous games, the
small turnout for the band,. caused by
members seeking better seats lowered
the quality of the music, although at-
tempts were made to present a suit-
able program.:
