HEARD THRU THE TRANSOM

About two weeks ago we had so
many "sick" pens that it was elev-
en-thirty P. M. before I had vis-
ited all of them and prescribed a
proper diet of ink here, "set" a:
broken limb there, and performed
.a "pointolectomy" some place else.
Just a little after ten o'clock, two
of 'the boys engaged in the follow-
ing conversation as they looked at
our window display:
"Say, Ed, what does Rider mean
by' Fountain Pen Specialist, any-

way? Why, even the Hardware
Man sells them at home"
"Ile means Specialist- - S-p-c-
c-i-a-l-i-s-t - Specialist. Do you
get it now?"
"Where do you get all your first-
hand information Ed?"
"A couple of weeks ago I decid-
ed to have that gold point of mine
'put in a new holder, so I went to
see Rider. I thought would have
to wait at least a week for a new
barrel and cap to come from the
factory, but I found out he keeps

repair parts for all standard pens
right in stock. I happened to men-
tion to himn that the reason I was
having the old point fixed into a
new holder' was because I liked
the point, but that the' pen never
held enough ink. Rider looked at
my point and took one of his Mas-
ter Pens with a point almost like
the old one. 'Then he ground "it
until I couldn't tell the diffem'enee.
You see, old scout, why I got a'RI-
(her Master Pen that holds ten
tinges as much ink at-

HOW HIGH A PRICE?
King Richard offered his kingdom for a horse.
It's not necessary to give so high a price. We
have plenty of well-trained saddle horses for
hire at $1.00 per hour, and our cash-coupon plan
makes them even cheaper than that.
