Mrs. Elizabeth Lee Eistetter, presi-I dent of the American Legian auxiliary in Mexico, is exemplifying the abilitigs of American women by tackling the problem confronted by the auxiliary) In the number of "floaters" who are in and out of Mexico each day. As many of these wanderers are members of the Legion, and often are strangers in a strange land without friends or funds, relief work .among them is at times extremely difficult.. Mrs. Eistetter found that uncertain train service between Tampico and Mexico City made co-ordination of the work of the auy).liary units in these two towns impracticable, so she has evolv- ed a scheme of localizing the efforts of the individual organizations. So suc- cessful has this plan proved the aux- iliary is today recognized as one of the principal relief agencies in Mex- ico. Mrs. Eistetter has found that ex- service men in, the employ of firms in Mexico often require assistance in case of sickness. A number of the firms take care of their employes in case of illness, but the Legion has found that in some instances it is ne- cessary to seek outside aid. In addi- tion, the Legion has advanced funds for the embalming of the bodies of ex- service men who die in Mexico and whose relatives want the bodies sent to the United States.
