Masques' Plays Well Received Two one-act plays, presented by Masques, were the feature of the Wo- men's league party yesterday after- noon. "The Person in the Chair," an intensely interesting play, directed by Velma Leigh Carter, '24,' held the at- tention of the audience throughout. Garibel Schmidt, '23, portrayed vividly j the part of the Woman, who, because of an, unhappy past, could never keep. the love of the Person in the Chair. Her voice is low and full, and seemed peculiarly fitted to her part. Dorothy Rockwell, '24, as the debutante, and Nellie Rittenhouse, '25, as the friend, were exceedingly good in their parts. On the whole, the play was well acted. "Mrs. Pat and the Law" was directed by Theadore Burton, '23, and was ex- cellent in detail. Mary Wiley's, '24, characterization of an Irish mother, with a no-account husband and a crip- pled son, was splendid.'
