less than two minutes, Dinah tells him
of her engagement to Brian . And so it
goes throughout the play; the other
characters confide in Mr. Pim a-
though he were an old friend and
the lovable little man delicately ad-
justs ehimself to each new situation
with a gentleness and a sympathy that
constitute the charm of the play.
"Mr. Pim Passes By' is in itself a
clever play, but in the creation of Mr
Pun the dramatist has given a new
character to the stage. My guess is,
that long after one has seen the play.
one's most vivid memory is of Mr. Pim,
Carraway Pim; yes that's it, Carraway
Pim, Mr. Carraway Pim.
