(Continued on Page Seven) MICHIGAN RECORDS" ....... _.. . i I : I In 1919 Northwestein's football teami had Michigan 13-2 at the end of the third- quarter. For three quarters they had outplayed the Maize and Blue, but in the last few minutes of play Mich igan came back. Glenn Dunn made the first touchdewn. Score 13-9. Then, with two minutes to play the old. statute .of liberty was attempted, the same one that had won the Pennsyl- vania game four years before 13-11. It worked and with proper interfer- ence the touchdown was made by Sparks. Score 16-13. In the first four years that Yost coached at Michigan the Wolverines won the Conference title every season absolutely without dispute. This was in 1901, '02, '03, and '04. In 1905 the championship was lost by two points. Michigan defeated Ohio State by the score of 86-0 in 1902. This is the larg-1 est number of points that a Wolverine team has ever run up against the Scar- let and Grey. Statistics show that Michigan and Nebraska have met just three times on the football gridiron in 1905 and 1917, two of the games being in the same year. In these three encounters Michigan won two, while the western- ers ;tied the Wolverines for the third.j The total scores are Michigan 57, Ne- braska 6. Michigan has clashed with the Uni- versity of Pittsburgh three times, once in baseball and in two tennis meets. The baseball game was in 1913.
