Coach Tom Jones has experienced men, with high rat- ings in the Western Conference, tv enter in practically every event.. The Badgers are expected to be es- pecial'y strong in the hurdles, distanc- es and pole vault,,with a well round- ed team in the other events. Always 1 among the leading contenders for; the Conference champ'onship, Coach Jones feels that the 1922 team will be able to lead all of its competitors, provided that eligibility does not cut heavily into the squad. Outstanding indivdual stars, how. ever, are lacking among the Badgers, A. J. Knollin of Pocatello, Idaho, cap- tarin of the team, is expected to lead the Conference in both high and low hurdles. In the two mile, Wisconsin will have George Finkle of Greenwood, Wis., who won the Conference cross coun- try meet this year, and was among the leaders in the two-mile at last year's outdoor Conference track meet. Mark Wall of Eau Claire, and Clar- ence Wille of Milwaukee are experi- enced mile runners with two years of varsity competition. They both have placed in Conference meets and are looked for to be in best condition this year. The Badgers will again have Dale Merrick, who won the Con'' rence. pole vault last -year, to represent them in this event. L. W. McCure and N. D. Scott, although less ex- perienced, are looked to for places. Ralph Spetz of Milwaukee, if eligi- ble this year, will represent the team n the 100 yard dash, 220 yard dash, and the 440 yard run. He is one of the best dash men who has repre- sented the Badgers in years, accord- ing to the coaches. E. W. Johnson of Madison and Robert Blodgett of St. Paul, are other dash men of promise. Guy Sundt of Stoughton, football captain, will be in his third year of competition in the weight events and, the broad jump. P. M. Platten of Green Bay and Gibson are hsit jump- ers who are counted on. Both have had one year of competition. Detroit Central Alumni Dance, Fri- day. February 3. Hotel Statler. In- formal.-Adv.
