A flock of 16 Belgian Wax Wings'
was seen in Ann Arbor yesterday near
the home of Prof. F. C. Newcombe, of
the botany department, on Geddes
Heights. Norman A. Wood, curator of
birds in the Museum of Zoo'ogy, who
has been with the ' University for
twenty years and has worked in Michi-
gan for over 'forty years, claims that
these are the first Bohemian Wax
Wings that he has ever seen in their
natural state.
There are two types of Wax Wings
Sthat, have been observed InrMichigan,
the Bohemian or Wanderer and the
Ceder bird. tThe HudsondBaycountry
is their natural home and it is very
rarely that they are seen even in the
northerni peninsula. Because of their
brilliant coloring they are very beauti-
,Iful.
