LNOIS ICE C RLE AM ARCADE Colorful and interesting is "White, Oak," in which William S. Hart will be seen the first three days of the week. The plot of this production, in which the star is said to be seen at his best, deals with the stout hearted pioneers and picturesque characters of the early days of the west. Mr. Hart has a good supporting cast which is led by Viola Vale. In addition to "White Oak," inimit- able Johnny Hines as'Torchy, the of- fice boy created by Sewell Ford, will be seen in 'Torchy's Frame-Up." Marshall Neilin in "Bits of Life," which is the attraction the rest of the week, has set a precedent by combin- ing the short stories of four well- known autohrs into one general theme of powerful dramatic appeal. "Bits of Life" is screened n four episodes, each being enacted byentirely differ- ent castes which include many promi- nent players such as Lou Chaney, Wesley Barry and John Bowers. WUERTH "A Certain Rich Man," adapted from William Allen White's novel by that .name, is the. feature the first three days of the week. The value of the original story is enhanced on the screen by the impressive work of Rob-j ert McKim in the principal role. Claire Adams heads the caste which is made up of some splendid players. Eugene O'Brien is featured in, "World's Apart" on Wednesday and Thursday. This picture is said to af- ford an opportunity for some of the best work of O'Brien's screen career. William Christy Cabanne has pro- duced another notable photodrama in "The Barricade" which is here the rest of the week. The story is ap intensely human and appealing one and is a powerful sermon against false pride and prejudice. However, it fortunately escapes being preachy. MAJESTIC That there is a great difference be- tween ordinary jazz music and syneq- pated melody will be proved by Troy's 1922 Revue, which is here this week in addition to Gloria Swanson's latest picture, "Under the Lash" and also a Christy comedy. Troy's Revue is considered something different and entirely novel in the line of vaude- ville, and is characterized by its catchy music and high grade enter- tainment. Tense drama, splendid climaxes and Gloria Swanson make "Under the on the screen in a long time. Betty Compson in "Law and the Woman," here the second part of thej week, is responsible for a decidedlyI interesting portrayal and for a most dramatic and thrilling picture.
