CALIFORNIA:, The $1,000Op00 goal set for the Stadium drive at the Uni- versity of California has been sub- scribed. California's share of the gate re- ceipts at the big game at Stanford, Nov. 19 totaled over $100,000. ILLINOIS: Captain-elect D o n Peden, of the University of Illinois football team, has been offered a posi- tion with the Chicago White Sox in event he decides to follow professional baseball after he finishes college. NORTHWESTERN: Sorority wo- men at Northwestern university have asked fraternity men to dress dolls to be submitted in a contest to "best symbolize the modesty of modern girls." It is thought that some of the men's ideas of "sybolic" will be aston- ishing to the women. The plan was conceived to allow the men their long- ed-for opportunity to offer construc- tive suggestions regarding women's dress. YALE: Owing to the increased in- terest of the public in football this season, the Yale authorities are con- sidering plans for increasing the ca- pacity of the bowl to 117,000. Charles A. Ferry, '71, designer of the bowl, states that the plan provides for a balcony over the upper section of the seats and the promenade. The balcony would consist of a series of concrete arches supported by re-enforced columns erected around the outer edge of the promenade. The addition would provide about 49,000 more seats and make a covered stand for the upper part of the bowl. BROWN: Herald threatenes to post the names of delinquent sub- scribers on the bulletin boards and publish them in the Herald if sub- scriptions are not paid up by Dec. 15. VANDERBILT: In an article head- ed "Undefeated Commodores much sought-after for 1922", the Vanderbilt Hustler says, "With the new stadium a certainty and with such teams as Auburn, Tennessee, Sewanee, Ken- tucky State, and Michigan as pros- pects, the football fans of Nashville should indeed have a feed of grid-iron food." UTAH: Plans have been formulat- ed for a local scholarship fraternity at the University of Utah. DETROIT NORTHERN HIGH ALUMNI TO GIVE DANCE Alumni of the Detroit Northern High school will give their second annual ball Friday, Dec. 30 at the Hotel Statler. Arrangements have been made to make the affair more elaborate than the last year's event. Dewey's fifteen piece orchestra will furnish the music, and the Owen sisters, alumni of the school and now well known on the stage, will give a specialty act.
