"This vocational bureau is practical- ly a new phase in public school sys- tems and as worked out in Detroit by Professor Filbey is by far the best of its kind in the United States," is the opinion of Prof. George Myers, of the department of vocational education. Under Professor Filbey's direction the vocational bureau was organized to provide positions for every gradu- ate of the Detroit schools, both inter- mediate and high schools, who applies for a position. The bureau is also prepared to give vocational advice and assistance to Detroit school students. At present the bureau comprises a working corps of more than 15 mem- bers. It is to be considered the 'con- necting link' between the scholastic and commercial worlds. Professor Filbey will return to the University of Chicago the first of January. His successor will be chosen from school men of Detroit, or possibly a member of the University department of edu- cation. Have you sent in your scenario for the University movie yet?
