a Y. W. C. A. tea from 3:30 to 6

Tryouts for the University School
of Music Girls' Glee club will be held
from 10 to 11 o'clock Saturday, Oct. 1,
and from 3:30 to 5:30 o'clock, Thurs-
day, Oct. 4.
Junior and freshman girls are in-
vited to the junior adviser dinner for
freshmen at 6 o'clock Monday, Oct. 3
at Barbour gymnasium.
A student's athletic book has been
found and turned in to the office of the
dean of women. The owner- may re-
ceive it by applying to Miss Sherman,
Mrs. Jordan's secretary.+
A sorority pledge pin which cannot
be identified has been brought in to
Mrs. Jordan's secretary, where it may
be found by the owner.
There are several positions open to
girls who wish to work in private fam-
ilies cooking and serving dinner, from
4 o'clock in the afternoon on. Miss
Sherman, Mrs. Jordan's secretary, will
be glad to talk to girls who wish work
of this kind.
MACDONALD-McLAUCHLIN
ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCED
Announcement was made of the en-
gagement of Alice Joy MacDonald,
'23, to Russell J. McLauchlin, ex-'15,
both of Detroit, at a special dinner at
the Kappa Alpha Theta house Wed-
nesday evening.
McLauchlin is a Cornell graduate of
the class '18L, having spent two
years here in the literary college, and
at present is an associate editor of
the Deiroit Saturday Night. He is a
member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon
fraternity.
The marriage will take place next
summer.
Diniuf Engagement Announced
Announcement of the engagement of
Lenore Diniuf, '22, and Noel Richards,
a senior at Indiana, was made last
night at the Pi Beta Phi sorority
house. Richards is a member of the
Kappa Sigma fraternity. The mar-
riage will occur In January.

LEAGUE POSTPONES
AFTERNOON PARTY
The Women's league party which
was announced for this afternoon has
been postponed. Owing to the factl
that Dean Myra B. Jordan will en-
tertain University women at tea on
the following three Friday after-
noons, the first afternoon party of the
Women's league will be held Friday
afternoon, Oct. 28.
Members of the board of faculty
advisors for this year will be as fol-
lows: Mrs. Marion L. Burton, Mrs.
L. A. Strauss, Mrs. R. W. Cowden,
