MYERS AND PROF. WHIPPLE INVESTIGATE STATE REFORM SCHOOL Following revelation of the shock- ing conditions in existence at the State reform school at Lansing, Prof. George E. Myers of the education department, left last night for that city to direct a detailed investigation. Last week several officers, includ- ing the superintendent of the school, Joseph M. Frost, were removed from office at the instigation of Governor Groesbeck. It was found that boys of the school were suffering from too scanty clothing, and that corrupt dis- cipline and a despicable state of mor- ality existed in the school. Professor Myers was appointed to complete investigations, immediately following these discoveries.' He is as- sisted by Dr. Guy M. Whipple, profes- sor of experimental education. Dr. Whipple is expected to return this afternoon from Lansing where he has been reviewing conditions. Professor Myers expects to com- plete his work the middle part of next week. His report will be made public I II i 1 I I b' c ; I J t Wed. - Thurs. Justine Johnstone P FA in ,I P "The Plaything jo 2roadway" \1 s.""..-
