THE MICHIGAN DAILY WOLVERINE SWIMMERS .PLAN TO AGAIN MEET S CLEVELAND M.C3a Ae A COACH DRULARD IS WORKING - ARD TO DEVELOP HIS TANK SQUAD Arrangowents for ne of the sev- _eral-isWiMming meets which will oom- prise the Varsity tank schedule dur- tag-. thicoming season have been com- pleted, according. to. W. F. Elliott, '23, Intramural manager. Cleveland Y. M. C. A., whose aggregation downed the Maize and Blue last year by a score of 39 to 29, will be met in the Ohioans pool on Feb. 25. Cleveland according to Coach H. S. Ulen, is rep- resented by almost the same team which trimmed the Wolverines last year, while the Michigan squad is sure to offer a far more formidable front. Practice, under the guidance of Coacir Elmer Drulard is proceeding daily in the pool of the local "Y". Despite the fact'that a wealth of ma- terial has. put in appearance Coach Drulard wishes it understood that the call for candidates is a standing one, and that new tryouts will be given every opportunity to display their wares each afternoon except Monday and Thursday from 3 until 6 o'clock. On Monday and Thursday practice wil be held from 4:30 until 6 o'clock. Candidates are particularly needed in the plunge for distance, and back stroke events, .as. In these the Varsity will not be up to last year's standard The plunge is a fat man's event, one of the very few athletic events at which fat men are adept. Coach Dru- lard hopes that the next few weeks will bring out several candidates fpr the distance dive. The back stroke is handicapped by the graduation of Porter, as is the plunge through the loss of Yerkes, and good men are needed in both. 900 TICKETS SOLD, FEW SEATS LEFT Less than.100 tickets for the game at Madison Saturday remain at the athletic office. Out of the 1,000 tick- ets received here and placed on sale, all but 100 have been taken up by students at the University and alum- ni in the middle 'western cities. The tickets will be sold today at the athletic office and at the close of the day's lfifiiess any :tickets left over will be sent to Madison, where they will be placed on sale along with 250 others that are being held in .re- serve for the Michigan fans, at the Park hotel in that city.
