ICE CREAM FRATERNITY MARBTHAN SET FORNOVEMBER22 Entries in Intramural Run Assure Popularity of New Event Entries for the interfraternity mar- athon which is to be held on Nov. 22 are coming in rapidly in the Intra- mural office, advance dope indicating that this innovation on the fraternity program is to prove even more popu- lar than was expected. In accordance with a letter mailed to all fraternities on Friday all en- trants will be required to go over the course of 2 and 7-10 miles at least five times before the contest takes place. This regulation has been some- what amended by intramural officials. Participation in a soccer game will be counted as a time over the course, and men out for football who take part will not be required to run be- fore the day set. PLAN BIG TOURNEY FOR HANDBALL MEN -r-- What prophesies to be the biggest event of its kind staged in Waterman gymnasium is the annual handball tournament which is to be held the first week in December, for the single entries. In order to insure a larger number of entries for the tournament the two events singles and doubles will be held at different times of the year. The doubles tournament will not be held until the first week in the second semester. This will insure plenty of time for the teams to d velop their play and team work, and stimulate campus interest in handball. Silver loving cups will be awarded as usual to the winners in both the singles and the doubles tournament. Splendid competition is assured, for such men as Sanchez, 3rucher, Og- don and Gehring, all of decided abili- ty on the handball court, will be entered in the tournament. The tournament is open to the campus at large and it is hoped that all inter- ested in handball will sign up for the events. Further notices will appear in The Daily and in the handball courts, regarding the tournament. GOW HERALDED AS SWIMMER OF EXCEPTIONAL ABILITIES (Continued from Page Fie) with the distinction of reaching the mark ahead of Norman Ross, whose name is significant all over the aquat- c world. Being a first year man he will be neligible to compete on the Varsityj team this year, but with three seagons of competition ahead of him he should be a big factor in placing Michigan well to the fore, particular- ly when the sport is recognized. Rifle Team Plans Turkey Shoot The rifle team was out at the range for practice this morning for probably .he last time this fall, as the weather is becoming too cold for good work. A turkey shoot, such as was held last Thanksgiving day, will probably be held this year on Thanksgiving.
