THE MICHIGAN DAILY __ _____ News From The Other Colleges :ry ISTAS BAZAAR Definite plans for the Christmas basaar- whioh-the Women's league will hold in Barbour gymnasium Dec. 9 and-10;-have- been arranged and every league house is requested to fill out two 'cards size 4x8 inches with the following information and leave them1 in the box provided in the league room 1 in University hall not later than 41 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 9. The first card should' contain the name of the league house, the name of the president of the house, and the names of all girls in the house and what they will contribute toward the bazaar, and also the number of pounds of candy which the house will furnish for the candy booth. Suggestions for the contributions . for the fancy work booth are, handkerchiefs, collar and cuff sets, parchment shades, candy boxes, etc. While handwork is greatly desired other articles will be accepted. The second' card should contain the name of the leagpe house and the house president and the schedule of girls who will be responsible for being in the booth from 9 o'clock in the morning until 9 o'clock at night both Dec. 9 and 10. In cases where there are less than ten girls in the house it will be necessary for the house to combine with another house for supplying girls for the booth and in such cases the house president is requested to call Mariam Reed, '23, telephone 217, to' find out with what house to combine. Each league house should prepare a- sign for a booth bearing the name of the house, this sign must not be more than 18 inches long. Dartmouth-Radical changes in the administration of Dartmouth college were adopted by the faculty at a re- cent meeting. The most important change is that which refuses readmis- sion to students once dismissed from the college because of scholastic dif- ficulties. Oregon-The application of the Un- iversity of Oregon for a chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, national honorary scholarship society, is to come up for the third time at the meeting of the Phi Beta Kappa senate, some time be- tween December and March. Washburn-Journalism students of Washburn university, Topeka, Kansas, edited the Topeka Daily Capital for one day, Nov. 2, when the regular staff was given a vacation to see the American legion show in Kansas City, only the desk men remaining on the job. Iowa-The national convention of Sigma Delta Chi, which was to have been held at Iowa State Nov. 10 to 12L has been postponed to sometime in December. Due to the fact that the month of November is a busy one for newspaper men, many of the members wanted a later date. Wellesley-A permanent ranking list is to be established for all members of the college playing tennis. The play- er's position is bettered by challeng- ing the five players on the list immed- iately outranking the challenger. Oregon-Sixty-three Oregon women are employed at the university. ADVANCED CLASS OFFERED AT GYM bilities for organizing such a class, but hitherto none has been definitely formed. This year special efforts are being made by Miss Wood to accommo- date the girls interested. Ultimately class teams in apparatus work can be organized, for class competition, in which it is possible that both individ- ual and class honor points will be given, though this will remain to be decided later by the women's athletic board. The time for the class has not been definitely decided on, but it is probable that it will be held at 5 o'clock on Tuesdays and Thursdays. In order that she may secure some idea as to the number of girls who are interested, Miss Wood requests that they sign up on the bulletin board in Barbour gymnasium immediately. Senior Girls Win From Sophomores Senior girls' first team won from the sophomore first team by a score of 1-0 in the second of the interclass hockey games, played Wednesday aft- ernoon on Palmer field. The game was close throughout, characterized by strong playing on the part of both teams. The winning point for the sen- iors was made by Adele Zimmerman.
