Glee Club SingOS
For composer At
RZecent Rehearsal
It is not every musical organization
that has the privilege of having a com-
poser judge its work, but this is just
what happened to the Varsity Glee
Cub at its rehearsal oie night tbi
week in the Union. The club had
been given Cadman's "A Mighty Vul-
can" to rehearse and just as the
final measures were being re'ndered
a knock came on the door.
It was opened and there stood
Charles Wakefield Cadman, himself,
listening to his own music being sung
by the Michigan Glee club. He ap-
plauded and so did every one else.
Then he requested the club to sing
the song again, this time especially
for him;- so the great American com-
poser, sat on a table in the front of
thse room and heard his own music.
Mr. Cadman is rather short as to
stature, but his smile, and the atmo-
sphere of ability which seems to be
a part of him shows the good sport
and the great artist he is.
