SUNDAY SERVIES IN
ANN ABOR CHURCHES
Services this week in Ann Arbor
churches are marked by a. program of
wide extent, ranging from the occup-
ancy of one pulpit by the church's
former minister to the observnce of
Music week.
The Baptists are the denomination
welcoming their former pastor, Rev.
T. W. Young, who was with them from
1894 to 1906. Reverend Young will
occupy the pulpit both morning and
evening. The Baptist guild will also
hold its regular meeting.
Dr. Barrett will preach the regular
morning sermon at the Presbyterian
church, and in addition Prof. W. D.
Henderson will speak at the young
people's meeting at noon.
Dean Joseph A. Bursley will ad-
dress the young people of St. Andrew's
Episcopal church at 6 o'clock. There
will be the regular morning and after-
noon services.
Chief Red Fox Shishu will speak
at 6:30 in the Disciples church, bring-
ing a message of renewed interest in
the American Indian. The regular
service will be held in the morning
and a special song service observing
Music week, at night.
A complete -schedule will fill the
day at the Methodist church with
emphasis placed on the student class-
es for both men and women held at
noon in Lane hall. A choice of sub-
jects is offered in these classes most
of which are conducted by prominent

Annual tryouts for Athena Literary
society will be held at 7:15 o'clock
Tuesday night in the Alpha Nu
room, University hall. All University
women are eligible.
Many sophomore women have not
yet had their locker assignments made
by Mrs. Blackburn. It is necessary
that this be attended to at once.
Final tryouts for the School of Mus-
ic Girls' Glee club will be held from
4:15 to 5:30 o'clock, on Monday, Orit.
17, at the School of Music. All girls
on campus who have had any vocal
training are eligible and are strongly
urged to try out.
Hockey practices for upperclass
teams will be held Wednesday after-
noon, Oct. 19, as follows: Sopho-
mores at 3 o'clock; juniors and sen-
iors at 4 o'clock.
Miss Case's class for extra instruc-
tion in tennis, open to women of all
classes, will be held at 1:30 o'clock
Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 19.
The second hygiene lecture will be
given for all freshmen and entering
sophomore women at 4 o'clock Tues-
day afternoon, Oct. 18.
Tryouts for the Girls' Mandolin
club will be held from 4 to 5:30 o'clock
on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thurs-
day of this week at Newberry hall.
University Girls' Glee club will hold
its first rehearsal at 4:30 o'clock,
Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 18, in Barbour
gymnasium. Plans for the coming
year will be discussed at that time.
Dean Myra B. Jordan will have a
dinner for presidents of the organized
league houses at 5:30 o'clock Monday
in Barbour gymnasium. If any presi-
dent is unable to attend they should
send a representative.
