The old tradition, revived in 1919 after a lapse of five. years, symbolizes the passing on of their torches by the senior women to the girls of the jun- ior class. The seniors, in their caps and gowns, lead the march to the tune of the Lantern night song, and are fol- lowed by the other classes who com- plete the march by forming in an "M" back of the seniors. The seniors then give their lanterns to the juniors di-- rectly in back of them, changing places with them in the line as they do so.- The ceremony is completed with the singing of "The Yellow and Blue." As has been the custom in the first. three years, the annual Field day ex- ercises will be held in the afternoon before the Lantern night ceremony. At 5 o'clock the final events in ,all class sports will be played off. Then a picnic supper will be held, which is usually attended by the girls in groups from their respective houses. Each house brings its own lunch, and after supper, the interval beforeadark is taken up with the singing of house songs by the various groups. Before the Lantern night ceremony begins, the awards will be gien to the girls who have won honor points in the Women's Athletic association. These will be presented by the presi- dent of the lassociation. It is neces- Attention,!
