FARMER TEAM THAT MEETS WOLVERINES ,' N lanced its way through wool and can- The same is. true of the coming battSATUR AY WILL HAVE NINE VETERANS M. A. C. will oppose the Wolverines next Saturday for the sixteenth time in 23 years. Only twice in the his- tory of. the conflicts, between the Yost trained elevens and the Farm- ers, have the East Lansing boys been returned victors; and on one occa- sion they held the Wolverines to a coreless tie. From all indications the Farmer eleven this year is not as powerful as the elevens have been in past years. Albion's defeat of M. A. C., 24 to 7, last Saturday was one of the big surprises in local football. The Aggies lost the game, when after they had made one touchdown and by line plunging had carried the ball to Albion's one foot line, failed to put the ball across. Albion, then three points in the lead, kicked out of -dan- ger and the Aggies, conscious of a lack of time in which to carry the ball down the field in line smashes, took up a long passing game. Fail at Passing Bullen of Albion speared one of the Aggie passes and dashed half the distance to the. goal. Albion, unable to use line smashes,-used the hidden- end play for her second touchdown. The Aggies, desperate, again resorted to the passing game and again Bullen intercepted one of the Farmers' pass- es and raced to the goal line for the third touchdown. The Aggies, lope- lessly beaten, were unable to come back and even up matters. Coach Yost and the Wolverine coaching staff is not treating the con- test lightly but rather expects some stiff opposition from the East Lansing school. The Aggies have the knack of putting up their strongest fight against Michigan and more than once have exhibited unexpected strength in the clashes on Ferry f1eld. In 1913 the Aggies defeated one of Yost's greatest machines, while in 1914 Larry Splawn's toe gave the Maize and Blue a three point margin, (which was enough to win. In 1915 Michigan met its most disastrous encounter with the Farmers, when the Green and White won a 24 to 0 encounter. Nine-vterans of last year's tilt will be in the Aggie lineup Saturday. Captain Bos at right tac- kle is one of the strongest men in the Aggie forward wall. Last year this man gave the Wolverine linemen a strong argument, and with Matson at left guard, Michigan's right half of the line will be given a test which it has not received against Mt. Union and Case.
