.w.... ..... .....w.. . .. NO INTEREST IN SPORTS- .1 .1, F"1' A disappointing number of upper- class girls, particularly seniors, ap- peared Thursday afternoon for the first meeting of the year to consider class baseball practice. This is look- ed upon by the department of physical education as being exceedingly un- fortunate, and as an evidence of lack of class spirit. The small showing may be due to the fact that interest in the interhouse baseball league has superseded that which has formerly been evinced in the class games. The committee' concedes the league its place, but feels that it iould not be allowed to decrease the usual support of class' teams. Those who are waiting to come out. for sports later must bear in mind that the fact that the outdoor season has been much shortened this year, owing to the early Commencement date. There remain only five and one- half weeks for practice and the play- ing off of interclass games foi- the usual class championship. For this 'reason, there can. be no delay,' and practice is to start at once, the 'frst one for juniors and seniors being scheduled for 4:45 o'clock on Moi- days, and they are' to be held at that; time on Mondays and Wednesdays reg- ularly. In addition to the class baseball for juniors and seniors, there are to be definite classes for them in tennis and archery, and they will be eligible to enter the annual archery tournament held later. In order to accomplish' anything those who are interested must sign up. at once and report for their sports. The annual field day will -be held probably on May 31 or June 1. * C. of C.
