Radical Cha nge Is Inv.oked into 2 sketball Rules Several new basketball rules have been adopted by the committee which met several days ago in New York. The most important changes were in regard to fouls but several minor changes were also made such as clar- ifying the meaning in places in the book, and a rule which gives the cap- tains the right to call for time out when the ball is in their possession or dead. However, an exception is made when the ball is dead and in the hands of the opponent out of bounds. A free throw will not be given for a technical foul as was the case, but the ball shall be given to the oppon- ent at the place 'where the foul was made and they are permitted to put it into play with an unguarded pass. They are not permitted to dribble, or shoot at the basket. For personal fouls the same rule of one try for a basket which if made is to count one point stands, except when the foul is made within zones, in. which case there will be two free throws allow- the present free throw lines extend-! ed to either side of the court. 0O YOU KNOW- That Archie Hahn's record of 21 3-5 seconds made in the Olympic games, of 1904 for the 220 yard dash still stands as a world's record?
