Elaborate Plans Jiade 7/or Annual 'High Shool Meet Approximately 400 invitations were mailed to high schools of Michigan, Illinois, Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania, New York and Iowa to compete in the 22nd annual interscholastic field and track meet to be held on Ferry field, May 26 and 27. It is expected that several high school athletes will be the guests of the Athletic association on this occa- sion. In previous years this meet has been one of the largest meets of 'its kind in the United States and has at- tracted a big field of prep stars from all quarters of the country. Present plans include trial heats in all events except Javelin, mile run and relay race to be held on Friday after- noon. The meet proper will come at 1:30. o'clock on Saturday and will be finished in time for the visiting ath- letes to witness the Varsity baseball game with Chicago at 4 o'clock. The program of events under the consideration of Edmund H. Fox, '22E, interscholastic manager, ilicludes au- tomobile trips about the city and vis- its to the various buildings ion the campus and places of interest. On Saturday night there will be a ban- quet at the Michigan Union building where Coach Fielding H. Yost will 'present the winners with their medals and cups. The meet will be governed by the M. I. A. A. rules governing high school athletics. . Competent officials will be chosen from the Varsity, stars, past and present, and prominent athletes about the campus. Last year the meet was won by Northwestern high school of Detroit. Last year's victory for Northwestern brought the interscholastic cup back to a Michigan high school for the first time since 1910, when Shelby 'high school won first honors. "RIDER for PENS."-Adv.
