Those desirous of saving money can do so'by taking advantage of the Ar- cade Cafeteria's low costs.-Adv. Eight teams, the champions of 'the state, will come to Ann Arbor Thurs- day night to decide the Class A state Interscholastic basketball champion- ship. The first game will be played Thursday night and on Friday and Sat- urdaythose left will fight for suprem- acy. The tournament will be a straight elimination affair with a con- solation eries for the first round losers. A cup will be presented to the winner of both series and the members of the victorious team will receive gold charms while the players on the team finishing as runner up will be given silver charms. To Be Elimination Affair This year, for the first time, only the winners of the various sectional tourn- aments will participate at Waterman gymnasium. Before, any team could enter and there was considerable over- crowding which resulted in a large number of games for each team in a short time. Thetstate has been divided into di- visions and at a town in each section a tournament has been held to decide that section's entry in the Ann Arbor tournament, Neguenne has won from their neighbors in the Upper 'Penin- sula and will represent that part of the state. The teams around Bay City were beaten by Flint Centraland that team will come to Ann Arbor. Two Teams from Detroit Two teams each will come from the Ypsilanti section, the Kalamazoo sec- tion and from Detroit. Highland Park and Pontiac are the Ypsilanti district representatives. As yet no word has been received from either Detroit or Kalamazoo as to which two teams will come from these places but each sectionhas four outstanding teams and the two will probably be selected from these four. At Detroit, Southeastern seems to have the best chance but possibly Western, Northern, or Central will earn the hon- or of coming to Waterman gymnasium. From the records during the past sea- son these four look like the strongest teams, and two of these will be chosen. At Kalamazoo there are also four teams from which the two competing teams will be chosen, Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids Central, Grand Rapids Union, and Battle Creek have all had strong teams and seem to be about the pick of that section so if they play true to form two of thes teams will be entrants.
