BACK
Michigan's racqueteers were com-
pelled to. suspend practice during the
past week, due to the decidedly poor
weather that has pervaded Ann Arbor
and have, as a result, received a "con-
siderable set-back in the general proc-
ess of conditioning.
The first call for tennis, issued
a few weesk ago by Coach Walter
K. Wesbrook, brought out a number
of likely'-looking candidates, and the'
men were just getting into the swing
of things when they were forced to
suspend practice.
Only Two Veterans Back
Only two veterans of last season's
team remain, Capt. Charles Merkle
and George Reindel, Jr. This leaves
two berths which must be filled by
new men. Among the candidates who
have shown the most promise in their
performances of last year are F. Wor-
cester, Julian Zenon, both having;
earned their AMA's, Rorich, winner

wielders should waga a merry battle
for the two' vacant positions.
As soon as the weather permits
practice will be resumed at Ferry
field. The squad, however, will not
be held strictly accountable for
matches until after spring vacation,
the practice sessions to be held will
be chiefly for the purpose of condi-
tioning.
New Court Soon
Work on the new concrete court,
which, when completed, will afford
the squad greater facilities for play-t
ing, will be begun in a week or so.
Just as soon as the sod dries up enough
to prevent settling the contractors
will rig the new court up.
