Indian Affairs
Prof. C. H. Van Tyne, head of the
history department, has arrived in
Manilla en route to the United States
from India., where he has spent the
last few months at the request of the
Indian government, studying condi-E
tions there. While there he contri-
buted several articles to the Statesman,
a Calcutta publication, in which he toldk
of the American ignorance of condi-
tions in Injdia. *Professor Van Tyne°
intends to compile a book when he re-
turns, using the data he has gained
abroad.
Prof. Bartlett To Address Club
Prof. Harley H. Bartlett, of the bot-
any department, will address the Am-
erican Association of University Wo-
men at 'their next meeting which will
be held at 3 o'clock Saturday after-
noon-'at the Pi Beta Phi house. Pro-
fessor Bartlett will speak on "Native
Life in Samatra""

o'clock, April 1. in Barbour gymnas-
iumn will be an address by President
Marion L. Burton.
As in former years, many alumnae
will attend the luncheon as well as the
majority of undergraduate women.
Tickets will be sold at $1 for alumnae,
and 75 cents for undergraduates.

lecture at a joint meeting of the men's
and women's Cosmopolitan clubs at

hall. The subject will be "Master-
